In my country the norm of names is Name + Moms preferred last name + Dad's preferred last name. Some parents go even beyond not to hurt any grandparent that the baby is named Name + moms lastname1 + moms lastname2 + dads lastname1 + dads lastname2. It doesn't matter if parents are married or not.There were about 150 people on the guest list, but some have declined their RSVPs- most notably my MIL’s family. My fiancé’s family immigrated from another country, so unfortunately many of those still living abroad were not able to afford/coordinate the trip to the US for our wedding.
